Ongoing Maintenance
A large-scale architectural green wall anchors the foyer of Sanitarium’s Berkeley Vale workplace, introducing a strong biophilic presence that softens hard interior finishes while reinforcing the organisation’s sustainability and wellbeing values. Tropical Plant Rentals designed the installation to integrate seamlessly with the built environment, creating a striking visual statement that enhances the workplace experience.
The green wall uses reinforced modular panel systems with integrated irrigation and drainage to ensure reliable water distribution and protect the building envelope. More than 1,200 plants, including multiple Peperomia varieties, were selected for their colour variation, pattern and reliability in conditioned interiors. The planting layout was carefully designed to create visual depth and a balanced, established finish.
Installation was completed over two weekends to minimise disruption to workplace operations. Pre-established panels allowed immediate visual impact. Site access challenges, including tiled stairs and restricted wall
access, were managed with protected pathways, ramps and the use of a monitor spider lift for safe installation.
The completed green wall introduces a striking biophilic feature that enhances the workplace environment, improves visual comfort and reinforces Sanitarium’s commitment to sustainability and biophilic
workplace design.
Tropical Plant Rentals provides fully managed professional maintenance programs delivered by qualified horticulturalists, including a working-atheights licensed team for safe ongoing green wall access and servicing.
