Ausgrid’s workplace fit-out required planting that contributed meaningfully to the project’s 6 Star Green Star certification while enhancing the daily experience for employees. The planting needed to integrate seamlessly within joinery, furniture and collaboration areas while maintaining the clean architectural language of the workplace. Tropical Plant Rentals developed a coordinated planting strategy that supported sustainability performance while introducing natural balance across the office.

Across 5 floors, more than 200 resilient indoor plants including Sansevieria, Zamioculcas, Dracaena, Aglaonema, Rhapis and Spathiphyllum were installed within custom trough planters and integrated cabinetry. Soil volumes, drainage allowances and planter dimensions were precisely engineered to ensure long-term plant health and environmental performance. Dense foliage contributes to acoustic moderation, improved visual comfort and a calmer workplace environment.

Planter cavities were carefully measured and coordinated throughout construction to prevent conflicts with mechanical and electrical services. Installation was staged alongside finishing trades, allowing planting to be delivered efficiently while protecting the completed interior fit-out.

The completed workplace balances sustainability performance with architectural clarity. Integrated greenery softens the office environment while supporting employee wellbeing and contributing to the building’s high-performance Green Star workplace design.
